Camping Checklist

Whether you are a first time camper or have been camping for years, making a camping equipment list is always recommended. Any holiday requires the essentials to be packed but in case of a camping getaway, it is very important to pack the right camping equipment. All must be taken and none can be missed out (imagine sitting near an open fire in mountains without a can opener). There is no room service for you to pick up the phone and ask for one and neither is there a shopping mall nearby. It's only you and your chosen rocky surroundings.

Another important reason to prepare a camping gear checklist is to ensure minimal weight carried during a holiday. While on a camping holiday, you would not be the happiest person carrying heavy and unnecessary baggage. So give the camping equipment list a concise thought, check through the list below and select what you should carry with you. The camping equipment checklist below is a generic one, which needs to customized as per the group size, personal preferences of the members, facilities available at a campsite (for instance if there are games organized, you need not carry sports equipments, the same is true for first aid checklist), camping site natural conditions (the preferences would vary for a desert and mountainous region, climatic conditions and temperature play an equally important role), duration of camping, etc.

What next … Simple, take a print of this camping equipment checklist and start ticking and packing. Even if there are few days, do it now, because the chances are that few of the camping items mentioned in the checklist might have to be purchased. So keep some time for shopping, as you get ready for the excursion. Also as a line of caution, it is advised not to take pets along. And if you must, check the campsite regulations on this clause. Likewise avoid carrying valuables on a camping trip.
